Lumecca is a photothermolysis treatment that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to improve the appearance of skin: 

• How it works

  Lumecca uses specific wavelengths of light to target and destroy pigmented skin cells. The light is absorbed by the skin and converted to heat. 

• What it treats

  Lumecca can treat a variety of skin conditions, including: 

  • Hyperpigmentation 

  • Vascular lesions, such as spider veins 

  • Post-acne hyperpigmentation 

  • Sun damage 

  • Age spots 

  • Rosacea 

  • Freckles 

• How it feels

  During the treatment, you'll feel a warm sensation and a light snap from a rubber band flicking your skin. Most patients experience little to no discomfort. 

• How long it takes

  A session typically lasts less than an hour. 

• Results

  You may see immediate improvement after one treatment, but optimal results are usually seen after 4–6 weeks.
